Primary Parade

Yesterday (Saturday) our Ward Primary (sort of like Sunday School for kids 3-11 in the Mormon church) had an activity. We have a super Primary President. She organized this great parade for the kids. We decorated their bicycles and scooters and wagons. And then they rode down and around our neighborhood. A local firetruck even joined in the fun.

And the Bishopric found some motorcycles on which to cruise the parade route.

And here come all the kids...

Little Nora didn't last too long. Can you see her eyes?

Yup, just a few minutes in... out like a light.

My former home teacher walked on his stilts. Guess it's kind of a strenuous walk - good thing there was a street sign to rest upon.

The firetruck was a HUGE hit. Wanna know why?

See that stream of water?

Does it get any better than being sprayed by a firetruck on a hot, hot summer day?

They also hooked a hose up to a fire hydrant.

It made me think of storied I read where the kids flooded the street from water direct from the fire hydrant on their block. No mud here, but plenty of water.

Or of my Ward at BYU. The Bishop lives in Highland UT, and once a summer the area would flood the fields of the locals. We had so much fun splashing through the water and playing in the mud.

The firemen stayed for a really long time, and I think they loved the activity too - this one had his own cameras out.

A great activity!
