Awkward Moment

So tonight, while at dinner, our host told the story of how he met his wife. He was a single dad with five children, had been single raising his children for a couple years and noticed her at church. When he finally got up the courage to talk to her, he walked up to her and said," Gosh, you clean up nice..." It was the only thing that came to his mind - too much time with the kids, not much time with adults. Awkward! Needless to say, it took a while before they really met and fell in love.

Our dinner host - he's actually one of our vendors. There were two coworkers, myself and two of our vendor reps, and spouses (well, obviously I didn't have a spouse with me). We had awesome conversation, it was fun. As we are leaving the restaurant, someone comes up between one of my coworkers and me and says "Hi." Oh, don't worry, it's another of our vendor reps and bunch of his coworkers. And actually, the vendor with whom we dined and the one we ran into are competing vendors. What a fun coincidence of dining spots... uh-hu. Awkward!
