Like many older people, my grandfather was taking Coumadin the last few years of his life. And, as with many older people, that meant he bruised really easily. He had lots of bruises all over his arms.
I had a missing Papa moment, well week. I was turning off the gas under the BBQ last week and the BBQ hadn't cooled off quite enough. Well, following lots of pain, and lots of ice, and lots of Neosporin - this is what I found on the top of my wrist.
And I stopped wearing a bandage, because looking at it made me think of papa. It made me remember his bruises. So I just couldn't cover it up. A silly way to feel close to my grandfather 18 months after his passing. But I'm grateful for the week with my reminder.
